4/16/06 We had a nice crowd for Easter dinner. Besides our tiny family of 8, my mother, Liz (our neighbor across the street), my best friend Andrea, and her daughter Samantha (posing with Erin above) enjoyed our usual menu of ham and all of the necessary side dishes as well as a new lamb recipe I tried on the grill which turned out great! Britt and Erin did a great job setting a lovely table!
4/14/06 We spent Good Friday in the Nation's Capital. Dirk and I took all of the kids, my mother, Emily, and Megan (a student in our religion class) for a visit to the Smithsonian Museums followed by Mass at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Our high schoolers were soon bored by the museums and went for a ride on the carousel.
Spring Break in Baltimore - Ft. McHenry
4/10/06 The flag that flew at Ft. McHenry during the war of 1812 inspired the writing of the Star Spangled Banner. This flag is not as big as the original one, but we happened to be there at the end of the day and participated in taking the flag down. It was big! Coincidentally on Friday during Spring Break, we saw the original flag at the American History Museum where it is on display.

Britt's New Home

4/3/06 This is Blessing Hall, the dorm in which Britt will be living starting August 19! It is supposed to be ready before she gets there... Considering it was a hole in the ground during our last visit, I'd say they are making good progress. We went to HPU on Monday for early registration. She has her class schedule for the fall and will have 8:00 classes everyday!
