Graves Mountain Apple Picking

10/21/06 Because it was so late in the season we had to "pick" our apples out of the crates instead of from the trees. Dirk and the kids did a great job, though, of finding some good ones, and we enjoyed apple cider and apple butter while we were there. Grandma was overseeing the whole process!

Barkley ended up being one of the favorite attractions at the apple orchard!

Family Tradition

10/21/06 No trip anywhere near or through Fredericksburg is complete without a visit to Carl's Ice Cream! We ended our apple picking day with ice cream! 

Now that's a cake for an 18 year old!! Madagascar is the favorite movie of our older kids! 

Happy Birthday Erin?!?!

10/16/06 We celebrated Erin's birthday a little early this year because Britt and Alexander won't be here on the actual day. Britt was home for fall break, so we took advantage of having the whole clan together. Also, one of the presents Dirk and I got for Erin was tickets to a concert being held on 11/9 -- giving the tickets to her on 12/27 wouldn't have done her a whole lot of good!!
