2/26/07 It's amazing how much Barkley loves the snow, especially considering how much he hates water! He really enjoyed himself yesterday chasing Zoe through the snow whenever she wasn't sledding with the other kids in the neighborhood. The kids are enjoying yet another snow day off from school today!

Raspberry Cheesecake Delight

Haagen-Dazs had a contest to create their new ice cream flavor. Contestants had to submit a photo that inspired their new flavor suggestion. This is Brianna's entry. She did not make it into the final 10, but she had a great time with her photo shoot!

Winter Wonderland!

2/25/07 The weather forecast was a bit off for today. We were supposed to get "some sleet." We have about 4 or 5 inches of snow. It made getting to church interesting this morning. Old Bridge Road was closed because of an accident so we actually had to turn around and go the other way. Here is Dirk starting the scooping of the driveway.

All-State Band Audition

2/24/07 Brianna and I made the trip to JMU at 4:30 this morning to make it in time for her All-State Audition. I took one picture while we were waiting in line for registration. Then, being as "on the ball" as I am, I forgot to take any other pictures... We haven't heard the results of her audition yet, but I'll keep you posted! [2/26/07 We found out last night that Brianna placed 67th. Considering she was one of very few freshman at the event, she's pleased with her placement. She'll just try again next year!]

SEAS Annual Beer Tasting

2/17/07 Dirk and I attended the annual beer tasing at SEAS, and as usual, the cup building frenzy was in full force! Each table is supposed to see how high they can get with all of their empty cups. Competition was so fierce this year that they ran out of cups!!

2/14/07 With it being so cold and frozen outside, we had to crank up the heat on the floors. Poor Barkley must have thought we were trying to cook him. Anyway, here he is trying to keep cool (he's laying under the ceiling fan)!
